Nothing all that exciting today in the Border house. Garrett had school, and Mike and I both worked. Adison and Carson enjoyed playing with Liz the entire day. This evening Garrett had his first outdoor practice and we all went to church for the Ash Wednesday service. The kids enjoyed having movie night there. They are slowing becoming more acclamated to our new church home at SLP. Almost too comfortable. For instance they are perfectly fine with running in the hallways and asking our Kids Director for suckers whenever they see her. Adison still has a virus. She has had it since last Thursday. Luckily she is not overly craby- we just go through a lot of diapers. Carson was pretty sensitive today- he cried over a lot of little things and sought out a lot of comfort. (these days are sometimes fun since he is not always a snuggler).
It was a pretty average day in our houeshold. Maybe something fun and exciting will come up tomorrow.

BLUE GIRL
Well yesterday was an adventurous day for all of the Border Kids. Not only did Garrett get a retro hair style but Adison decided to turn herself blue. While we were on our way to the YMCA, I brilliantly let her play with a Gatorade bottle. Ice Blue. Thinking she would never get it unscrewed or even try to unscrew it I let her suck on the top and play with the bottle. It was great fun for her- she was so content- I was loving it. Until I looked down and noticed that there was a little blue on the car seat- I thought well this isn't so bad- only a little got on her and the car seat was washable. So I thought, I got to the Y and proceeded to tell the woman checking kids in that she was a little wet but not to worry it was just Gatorade, as I am unbuckling her I realize no it was not just a little she was drenched - her whole body covered in Blue gatorade. So I thought okay I will take her out of her clothes and go get her a new outfit. As I am taking her clothes off I notice that not only are they blue but so is she. Her skin was dyed blue! Bright blue!
It took three different body washes to get it off today. This picture is from this morning a whole day later.
Dumb and Dumber-

Today Mike and Garrett enjoyed spending the afternoon together. It was Dads night at preschool and Garrett was beyoned thrilled to have Mike tag along for an evening of fun at school. Before hand they went for hair cuts and a bite to eat. What an adventure. When they got home Garrett talked about how much fun it was to have Mike at school. I wanted to hear all about it. However, my OCD did not allow me to get past the fact that Garrett now had a Dumb and Dumber hair cut. Seriously cut straight across in the front. It was pretty bad- well super bad. I asked Mike about it and he said, "yeah I thought it looked a little different but I wasn't sure what to tell them, you can take him back tomorrow to get it fixed." Of course Garrett was listening and comes running in and says NO, I like the hair cut dad got me. This is the way he likes it and it looks good. Super funny. I explained to him that it really needed to be fixed because it wasn't even and looked a little funny. He protested a little and moved on with life. We did go back today and get it fixed and it looks much better, but it broke my heart a little to tell the little guy that he needed to get a new hair cut.
Birthday Girl
Adison is officially one years old. My oh my time has flown by. As I was growing up I always thought old people were crazy for saying how fast time flies. But as my children and I age I am finally understanding what they meant. I can hardly believe that she is walking and jabbering on and on everyday. It seems like just yesterday that I was laying in the hospital looking at her for the first time, enjoying her long sighs and shivers as she slept so soundly on my stomach. Now there is no stopping her. She is on the go and the world is hers to conquer.
Updated Pictures of the Kids
Here is updated pictures of all the border kids - Yes they have grown-
We just went to the doctor on Friday for Adison and Carson's well child checks.

Adison was a whopping 17.6 lbs and 28 inches long. She is small. In fact almost 2 full lbs smaller than Garrett and 4 lbs smaller than Carson at one. I have enjoyed the fact that she is staying tiny a little longer.
Carson was 34 lbs and 38 inches tall. He is one solid kid- and that is not my way of saying large. He really is solid. Kinda funny to watch people's facial expressions when they first pick him up. I can't wait till next year when he is tall enough to ride more rides at disney.Yippee
Garrett has also grown a ton in the past couple of months. In fact he no longer fits into his one month old winter jacket and nearly all the jeans we bought him in the fall are too small. He is 41inches tall and about 38lbs. A thin yet solid kid.

Finally Blogging again
Yes, It is true!! I am finally on the computer again. I am beyond motivated to blog daily. You know it is sad when Mike is emailing me asking me to update the blog. So ladies and the few gentleman that read this I am going to try really hard to keep this updated. As most of you know we (like everyone of you) have been crazy busy lately. About three months ago I took a new job at Eagle Brook Church coordinating the Early Childhood area at the Spring Lake Park Campus. Although this has been a challenge in so many ways for our family- it has been fun to see the transition of our lives. We are continually seeking God for balance and guidance on how to do life with me working 30 hours or so a week. It is comforting to know that He provides all the energy and resources needed to make things operate in our house.
Just a couple of udates for everyone-
Mike is still at Premium Waters- He absolutely loves his job, in fact some weekends I think he counts the minutes till he can go back to work. HAHA- Kidding but a little serious. He has changed more diapers in the past three months than in the last five years and has started to take on more than his fair share of the house work (well most of the time). When Mike isn't mopping the floors or picking up dog poop he is on the ice helping coach Garrett's hockey team.
Since I started working we hired a great Nanny named Liz, the kids adore her and it has been terrific having someone taking care of the kids in the comfort of our house.
Garrett is Five now- Not sure how I feel about how big he is getting. He is already out of the jeans I bought him in the fall and his winter jacket is almost too small too. I just can't keep up with this kid. He is playing hockey about three days a week and loving it. Of course no checking yet- so we will see how much he likes it then. He is attending preschool 4 days a week- Focus Fun on Tuesdays is his favorite. It is here that his creativity flows- it also helps that his favorite teacher is there too. He has become a stellar bowler on WII. If fact I do not think he has been beat yet- not even by Mike. He is also really into his little people toys and making parachutes for beanie babies.
Carson is almost three- but still two in so many ways. He is quite the quarky fun kid. So sweet yet crazy at the same time. Sometimes I say he has two personalities. He definitely keeps me on my feet. He has quite the vocabulary and uses his words well. When he is really mad he will say things like you are bad words mom. SO FUNNY He loves to play outside and is really into coloring. He has an obsession with skateboarding, jumping on and off the furniture, wrestling with Mike, baby strollers, and bubblegum. He adores Adison and follows his brother everywhere. And yes his hair is still curly and I think we will let it grow for awhile too.
Adison is officially ONE now. AHHH where has the time gone. It is amazing how fast they grow. Adison is beyond busy. She keeps up with the boys and is in the thick of every wrestling match they have with Mike. She has been walking since 9 and a half months and is cruising now. Stairs are no challenge for this girl. She loves babies, stairs, hot wheels, and anything she can climb. She is very independent and has a little bit of a temper when she doesn't get her way. She loves to laugh with Carson and snuggle with Garrett.
The Dogs- Well they are huge- No puppies at this point and well maybe never. They are still as calm as can be and shed more than any dog I have ever seen. But Carson calls them his best freinds.
As for me. Well just keeping my head above water, finding balance and seeking God to give me direction and clarity on what to do with my life. Mike and I are doing well. Starting a new parenting method and trying to focus on our family. We are working on simplifing our life in all ways possible. (NOOO we will not be cutting out Hockey for all you Anti Hockey people) I am committed to scrapbooking all my pictures in the next year and journalling as much as possible. Not to mention having fun with freinds and family etc.
