Kristin and Shelby's Visit to MN

MISC PHOTOS FROM THEIR TRIP

We are so lucky to live in MN where there is so much to do here.

TRIP GONE BAD

Our trip to Wisconsin would not have been complete without a little drama. Afterall chaos is what our lives is full of. Throughout our trip we continually tried to rent a golf cart. Of course they were completely booked. On the last day of our stay one became available. Less than two hours before our scheduled departure Mike, Kristin, Shelby and the boys decided to take the cart out for a ride. Mike thought it would be fun to let Kristin drive. Keep in mind this was her first driving experience. As they rounded the corner going full speed the golf cart tipped and all on board went flying. Some might ask why they didn't slow down. Well they tried the cart just didn't slow down as fast as they had hoped.

Carson, Shelby and Mike were injured the most. As they returned to the campsite Mike says very calmly, Kelly I need some help here. I look over wondering what he could have possibly said to make all the kids cry. Then I realize Carson is bleeding and shelby is in a state of shock. He says we tipped the cart very calmly. The rest is history.

It definitly makes for a good story for the future. I thank God everyone was alright.

This is Mike flaunting his stuff in my clothes - this is not normal behavior at the border house but he thought it would make the girls laugh. I am just mean and thought it would be funny to post. Plus you can see his horrible bruise.

Carsons face healed in less than a week with the aid of neosporin. I guess the key is not letting it scab.

Jellystone Park- with the girls

July 6th through the 9th we took a little road trip to Jellystone Park in Wisconsin. This was a trip we will never forget. While Shelby and Kristin were here we thought it would be fun to travel a little and camp. Both girls had little camping experience but were troopers the whole trip.

It was quite and adventure. The trip began with Nine of us in the car- Mike me, Garrett, Carson, Adison, Shelby, Kristin and of course the beasts of pups Duke and Daisy.

Everything was going well until Duke decided he was going to hop over carson while he was sleeping. Kristin tried to hold him back and Garrett well he just laughed histerically. Shelby screamed and I took pictures. (unfortunately there was no memory card in the camera- these shots would have won photo contests or atleast made a great scrapbook page)

Did I mention the dogs shed a lot. Duke decided to take a seat next to shelby or on top of her. She had hair all over her. Mike and I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. Every time Duke opened his mouth so did Shelby. She was screaming oh my God Duke NO Duke NO don't slobber on me. As we pulled into the Burger king for Dinner Mike and I realized how bad things were for her when the hair starting flying out as we all piled out of the car.

We walked into BK and the clerk says wow you all fit in that van with two dogs too. I am impressed. The rest of the car ride was not as eventful.

We had lots of fun at the water park, camping and experiencing all the activities the park has to offer. The boys enjoyed having the girls there and the girls (I think) had tons of fun too.

The best part of their weekend was checking out the guys from the skate show that was in town. Andy Stewart was their hunk of a guy. I think they actually spent awhile scoping his cabin out.

More butterflies

Butterfly Gardens

Throughout this summer we have been raising catepillars in our house. Along with all the girls in the neighborhood Garrett and Carson have enjoyed finding lots of butterfly eggs and watching them transform into butterflies. We lost our first butterfly this week in a crysalis. I was pretty bummed. Carson calls them his bugs. It has been fun to watch them grow.

Mike does not enjoy them as much as we do. Since their poop smells, he did jump on board and buy the boys a new ecosystem for the catepillars to live in. Great gift for a boy for all you moms out there.

Our "little" 5 month old

MY OH MY she looks a little like her daddy. Especially her rolls> Although Mike was born early he too was a chubby baby. Don't you just want to pinch that chub. It is amazing how she has grown so quickly. I can hardly believe she is still wearing 3-6 month clothes.

The beginning of a solid foundation

Just another pictures from a wedding this summer. Loved that they all placed their hands on the bible during this wedding.
